Top 10 Picks For Post-Mulcair NDP Leadership

Today, in a move that shocked many, the New Democrats voted to a formal leadership review of Thomas Mulcair. With a staggering 52% voting in favour, Mulcair was well below the 70-80% threshold of support he was looking for. While he was hailed as an excellent Parliamentarian, experienced cabinet minister, and competent at beard maintenance, he just didn’t seem to resonate with voters. The NDP has a long road ahead when it comes to picking a leader that embodies its values and principles. It isn’t going to be easy. The True North Times decided to lighten their load by giving our own shortlist of the top 10 people who may be fit to bring the NDP back from the darkness. It’s been a strange year or two in Canadian politics. Why stop now?
