Let the speculation begin.
While Stephen Harper seemed to, er, forget to resign on Monday night, the Conservative Party has made it clear that he’s going to be going. Late Monday night, the Conservative Party President John Walsh said that Harper asked him “to reach out to the newly elected parliamentary caucus to appoint an Interim Leader and to the National Council to implement the leadership selection process.” With that, the leadership process will soon begin, and we’ll select a new Conservative leader for the first time since 2004, tasked with injecting new life and enthusiasm into the party. Predictably, most the candidates appear to be the same old Conservative leaders we were talking about 11 years ago. With that, here are our top 10 picks to watch:
